Built by athletes.
Written for athletes.
We got into endurance sports the hard way — cramping through races, piecing together advice from a dozen conflicting sources, and wishing someone had just done the math for us. So we built the site we wish had existed.
How it started
It started in 2020: first running races, then cycling, then the inevitable slide into triathlon. With zero coaching and a lot of trial and error, the same problems kept coming up: bonking mid-ride, cramping on the run, pacing too hard in the first half and paying for it in the second.
Most of the information out there was either too generic, buried in research papers, or just wrong. The gaps were frustrating, so we started filling them in ourselves.
What we built
Even Splits Lab is two things: free tools that do the math for you, and a blog that explains the science behind the numbers.
The calculators cover race day fueling, sweat rate, pace planning, and heart rate zones. The blog goes deeper, breaking down the research on endurance nutrition, training load, recovery, and race strategy in plain language, without the filler.
Everything is designed for real athletes training in the real world, not lab conditions.
Who’s behind it
Even Splits Lab is led by Sadi Hockmuller, a Vancouver-based triathlete and creative director with 12+ years in marketing and design. That background shapes how we communicate: clear over clever, data over hype, useful over impressive.
We’re a small operation, but we take the content seriously. Every calculator is grounded in published research. Every article is written to answer a real question, not fill a content calendar.
